Stayed here two years ago. It was fun other then the beds being rock hard and mold in shower floor. I wanted to book again for this year for the weekend. Was told they don't know the prices in person. Would need to go online... kinda weird and hard to do with no service in the woods. So I did look online once back in Houston. I was shocked to see the price have doubled and tripled!!!! To be honest if I were to spend that kind of money it would be on a cabin or something nicer. Just not sure it's worth it considering I've stayed there before and there isn't a nice view or anything to do other then a outside pool.
Maybe I just didn't "get it" ?
Absolutely amazing resort for a vacation!! Cabins are beautiful and spacious. Fully furnished kitchen. Most of the cabins face the river. I am not sure where the goats came from but are very friendly. There are ducks and geese you can feed as well. There are picnic tables with grills and fire pits. Very large porches as well. We absolutely love this place.
My husband and I went back last August and again this last week, staying in one of the new cantina cabins. I'm hoping to return next summer with our sons and their families to stay in one of the new loft cabins. We got to look at them and they are amazing!
I liked that check-in and check-out was easy.
Pretty big bummer, I'd say. Front desk staff was very sweet and helpful, but the place was just... underwhelming. Especially for the price we paid. Walls were quite thin, sounded like the people above us were stomping but I know they weren't. The windows were covered with some paper-type material and there was no desk. The river was pretty looking, but not worth the $. The novelty of the "small town" was cool, but more appealing to kids than adults. Parking was TERRIBLE and it was very difficult to find our room, even when the nice front desk staff explained it.
Pretty area, but I will never go to Wimberly again. Absolute waste of time. And please, don't go to the Leaning Pear.
This has been the place where we've had reunions for a couple of years now. This is the first year that I felt the rooms were not cool. I'm not sure if they weren't done with the renovations but the cactus lodge was warm and it was hard to fall asleep. If they could get the AC fixed it'd be great.
Love this place! My family used to come here over 50 years ago, and we returned last year for a family reunion. We stayed in one of the lodges and it worked great for all 43 of us.
The staff was very friendly and I highly recommend 7A.
The cabin #s need to be more clearly marked!!!!!!! It is nearly impossible to see the room #, even if you'e standing feet away from it! See photos.
This is a great family place with the river and really nice pool as well as the ice cream parlor in Pioneer Town. They have done a great day of building and updating older cabins and lodges this last year and I think they will be starting on updates in Pioneer town in the off season.
